Allameh Tabataba’i University Launches Its Online Television Channel

According to the Public Relations Office, Allameh Tabataba’i University officially inaugurated its Internet Television today, Monday, August 11, 2025 (20 Mordad 1404), with the presence of Dr. Hossein Simayi Sarraf, Minister of Science, Research, and Technology; Dr. Vahid Shalchi, Cultural and Social Deputy of the Ministry of Science; Dr. Shoja Ahmadvand, President of Allameh Tabataba’i University; along with journalists and media representatives, at the Faculty of Communication Sciences.
Dr. Alireza Ashtari Tafreshi, Advisor to the University President on Public Relations and the head of the Internet Television project, stated that, given the university’s pioneering role in the media sector and the increasing importance of humanities in today’s world—especially with the rapid growth of various media, including online platforms—the university decided to establish its Internet Television network.
He added that the channel, inaugurated with the presence of the Minister of Science, aims to disseminate accumulated knowledge in the humanities and social sciences, and to present contemporary social issues to the university’s experts through various formats such as interviews and discussions.
Dr. Ashtari highlighted some of the channel’s initial programs, including “Society and Media with a Focus on University Social Responsibility”, “Mental Health with a Counseling-Oriented Approach”, “Management and Technology”, and a dedicated book review program analyzing scientific works of humanities scholars with their participation.
He further explained that alongside the production of initial content, necessary steps were taken to equip the channel with media infrastructure, which will continue to be expanded in the future.
Dr. Ashtari emphasized that building capacity for the permanent participation of faculty members, students, and creative alumni in various fields of the humanities is a key goal for the qualitative development of this media platform.
He also expressed gratitude to Mr. Mikaeil Bijani for his valuable contributions to the launch of the Internet Television channel.
Finally, he noted that Allameh Tabataba’i University’s Internet Television will continue its activities in collaboration with the University’s Public Relations Office, the Faculty of Communication Sciences, and the ATNA news agency.
