The inaugural National Family Law Moot Court Competition was held at Allameh Tabataba’i University with the aim of promoting a national dialogue on the importance of women’s and family rights across the country. The event also sought to raise awareness and empower students in this critical area of law, providing them with practical experience and enhancing their skills in legal reasoning and advocacy.

According to the University’s Public Relations Office, the opening ceremony of the inaugural National Family Law Moot Court Competition was held at Allameh Tabataba’i University, organized by the Family Law Scientific Association, the Faculty of Law and Political Science, the Educational Skills Development Office, and the Office for Women and Family Affairs, in collaboration with other university bodies, at the Faculty’s Conference Hall.

Dr. Hoda Ghafari, Vice President for Cultural and Social Affairs, emphasized the crucial role of scientific associations in promoting active student participation and fostering opportunities for nurturing their talents. She emphasized that the involvement of such associations in organizing events like the Moot Court exemplifies their influential contribution to the academic community.

Dr. Ghafari further stated that the Vice Presidency for Cultural and Social Affairs is ready to host initiatives that provide valuable opportunities for students nationwide and underscored the importance of promoting a culture of teamwork within the academic environment.

Dr. Mahdieh Mohammadtaghizadeh, Secretary of the Moot Court Scientific Committee, explained the competition's process, including the call for participation, team registration, submission of written briefs, and evaluation of the written stage. She stated that the main goal of the event is to provide a platform where students can gain essential experience in family law, better understand the field’s needs, and demonstrate their academic talents. Dr. Mohammadtaghizadeh also emphasized Allameh Tabataba’i University’s distinguished history in hosting national and international events, noting that this is the first national-level competition in family law.

The one-day national event is currently being held with the participation of eight selected teams from across the country.
