FDI Moot Court

The Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competitions, known as the FDI Moot Court is one of the most specialized moots. In this competition, an arbitration tribunal is simulated which is established based on an Investment Treaty, between the respondent host country and the home country of the claimant investor. This includes two steps: written and oral. The number of members of each team is not limited.
ATU team has, so far, had two attempts to participate in the FDI Moot Competitions in 2017 and 2018. However, they have failed to have success due to visa problems. But in 2020, ATU students formed a team under the name of Bigdely Academy which is established and managed by Professor Mohammad Reza Ziai Bigdeli, the founding father of the ATU Faculty of Law and Political Sciences. Achievements of the team include:

— Admitted into the third phase and the top 16 teams in the world;
— Earning 4th place in the written stage.
