Manfred Laches Moot Court

The Manfred Laches Moot Court Competition was held for the first time by the international institute of Space Law (IISL) in 1992. In fact, it is one of the oldest moot courts of the world. This competition by the subject-matter of space Law, tries to discuss new legal issues related to the exploration of the Moon and other celestial bodies. This competition has grown to cover five world regions: North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia pacific and Africa. Moreover, the winners of the regional rounds receive financial support to attend the World Finals takes place within the framework of the IISL’s annual Colloquium, which is a contained event in the international Astronautical Congress held on a different continent each year.
In 2019, ATU's Space Law moot court team registered for the first time and submitted its memorial to the regional round administrations in India. Although holding a national round is not mandatory, the Iranian space agency held a national funding round competition in Iran and six teams from universities of ATU, Tehran, Shahid Beheshti and … competed in Oral round before international judges and the ATU team won the championship and qualified for the regional round. ATU team competed among 48 teams of Asia pacific and ranked eighth, the team was formed as follow:
